The Digital Maldives for Adaptation, Decentralization and Diversification (D’MADD) Project conducted the Cyber Incident Response Workshop: Strengthening Cyber Incident Response and Management on 28 October 2026 at Meeruma Event Hall, Kaanima Maalan, Maldives. The workshop brought together 40 participants from more than 20 organisations.
Conducted in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) and facilitated by Mr William Zhang of the World Bank, the workshop focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of cyber incident response and management, with an emphasis on improving organisational preparedness and the ability to respond effectively to cybersecurity incidents.
As government institutions increasingly rely on digital systems and services, effective incident response is essential to safeguarding information, maintaining service continuity, and building trust in digital government services. The workshop provided a platform for participants from diverse organisations to exchange knowledge and explore approaches to improving cybersecurity practices.
Through practical sessions and hands-on activities, participants had the opportunity to apply their knowledge and develop a better understanding of cyber incident response procedures. The interactive format encouraged active participation and helped participants explore practical approaches to identifying, managing, and responding to potential cybersecurity incidents.
Funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology (MoHSLT), the D’MADD Project supports the Maldives’ digital transformation through initiatives that strengthen digital infrastructure, improve institutional capabilities, and promote the effective use of digital technologies.
The workshop forms part of the project’s broader efforts to support a secure and resilient digital ecosystem in the Maldives. By bringing together representatives from more than 20 organisations, the initiative highlighted the importance of collaboration and coordinated approaches to managing cyber incidents across institutions.
As the Maldives continues to advance its digital transformation, strengthening cybersecurity practices and incident response readiness remains essential to ensuring that digital services are secure, reliable, and resilient.
