Project Manager Dr Ibrahim Waheed participated in the Technical Deep Dive on Cybersecurity held in Tokyo facilitate global knowledge exchange and sharing. 

The Technical Deep Dive on Cybersecurity event, held from July 22 to July 26, 2024, in Tokyo, was organized by the World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) in collaboration with the Government of Japan. This event brought together cybersecurity professionals from 12 countries and focused on enhancing cyber resilience for national and local governments. At the event, Dr Waheed presented a high-level cybersecurity action plan and discussed the achievements and challenges in cybersecurity at the national level. He also emphasises the support that the project would provide for drafting the Maldives Cybersecurity Bill. 

Participants engaged in sessions covering a wide range of topics, including governance, legal frameworks, incident response, and critical infrastructure protection. The event featured insights from international experts and included site visits to cybersecurity companies and national institutions in Tokyo. 

The goal was to raise awareness, demonstrate solutions, and foster collaboration among participants to better understand and implement effective cybersecurity measures.
