Project Manager Dr. Ibrahim Waheed continued
discussions with the World Bank Mission consisting of Mr. Jerome
Bezzina, Senior Digital Development Specialist of the World Bank and the Task
Team Leader for the D’MADD Project, Mr. Seth Ayers from the World Bank and Mr. Aditya Agrawal and Mr. Shivam
Kishore, visiting Consultants from D4D Insights, following the workshop held this
week.
Mr. Seth Ayers, Climate Business Line
Lead at the World Bank's Digital Transformation Vice Presidency, which
facilitated access to the KGGTF, assisted in conducting the workshops. The Korea Green Growth Trust
Fund (KGGTF) is a collaboration between the World Bank and the Republic of
Korea. Since its inception in 2012, KGGTF has been dedicated to
technology-driven and implementation-focused initiatives, supporting partner
countries in developing innovative and sustainable solutions, strategies, and
investments aimed at Green, Resilient, and Inclusive Development (GRID).
The meeting was dedicated to planning for the
next stages of the Data Platform for Climate Action by the D’MADD project. The participants
discussed the best course of action to utilize the allocated funds and a
timeline, considering the substantial procurement process to achieve the goal
of establishing the platform by the end of the project.
Furthermore, aspects concerning Technology and
Data Exchange, Data Governance, Capacity Building, and Stakeholder Engagement
were discussed based on use cases such as coral reefs, coastal erosion, public
health outcomes and environmental impact assessments.
The session helped to lay the groundwork for
the Mission’s upcoming meetings with key government offices, ensuring
effective collaboration and support for the platform.
Mr. Ahmed Haleem, Communications Specialist. Ms.
Shama Ahmed Rasheed (Procurement Specialist), Ms. Ahlam Abdul Sattar (Finance
Management Specialist) and Ms. Fathimath Shafa Hussain (Project Officer) from
the D’MADD PMU joined Dr. Waheed.
