29 January 2025
D’MADD project has
awarded a contract to Control Data (Thailand) Limited today to Review, Design
and Develop the Systems Requirement Specification (SRS) for the Civil
Registration, Vitals Statistics, and Identification (CRVSID) Management system
of the Maldives.
Dr. Mohamed Kinaanath,
Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology, signed the contract on
behalf of the implementing agency, the Ministry of Homeland Security and
Technology. Mr. Nart Liuchareon, Managing Director, signed on behalf of Control
Data (Thailand) Limited.
Control Data
(Thailand) Limited (CDT) began its operations as a data backup centre before
pivoting towards distributing computer mainframes to government agencies, state
enterprises, and private companies as a branch of Control Data Corporation,
USA. CDT is a leading technology solutions provider specializing in digital
transformation and biometric solutions. With a strong focus on national ID
systems, CDT has developed advanced digital identity verification platforms
that follow international standards. Their work includes implementing the Thai
Digital Identity (ThaID) mobile application, which allows citizens to securely
verify their identity for online transactions and access government services.
Additionally, CDT plays a crucial role in vital statistics registration,
ensuring accurate and efficient management of birth, death, and other vital
records. Their comprehensive solutions enhance the security and efficiency of
identity management and public service delivery in Thailand.
The contract will
primarily support the Department of National Registration (DNR) under the
D’MADD project’s Component 2: “Digital Identification for Improved, Online and
In-Person Service Delivery,” the Maldives' foundational identification system.
The assignment's
output will be a detailed SRS document for implementing the CSRVID System,
which will help streamline the Maldives' population mechanism.
The D’MADD project’s
vision is to set up a robust system where data is produced at the point of
service and shared across the relevant systems that are part of the CRVSID
process to strengthen the Digital Identification System. The D’MADD will fund
the DNR to acquire the necessary software and hardware based on the SRS.
